Attention, Earth advocates! 250 Mission cannot wait to celebrate Earth Day 2024 with our community. We’re gearing up for a celebration of our beautiful planet and a call to action for a sustainable future.
This year, Earthday.org has provided a theme for this upcoming Earth Day: Planet vs. Plastics. Focusing on the urgent need to combat plastic pollution, and protect human and planetary health. With demands for a 60% reduction in plastic production by 2040.
Plastics pose a significant threat to our environment, disrupting ecosystems and endangering wildlife. But together, we can make a difference. It starts with rapid phase-outs of single-use plastics, supporting a strong UN Treaty on Plastic Pollution, and embracing innovative solutions for a plastic-free world.
Learn about some of the best ways to participate in Earth Day this year. First, boost your climate literacy and advocate for educating students about climate change. Second, contribute as little as one dollar to tree planting efforts.
Next, participate in global cleanup initiatives, or local events in Baltimore, MD to enhance your communities and natural spaces. Lastly, support sustainable fashion by shopping secondhand or purchasing from eco-conscious brands.
